The purpose of the FIRST Robotics competition is to make math and science more attractive by creating a competition where inventors, scientists, engineers, and programmers are celebrities in the same way as sports heroes and entertainers.

Dear Diary, Week One: my designers learned that for the competition they have to make me able to place tetrahedrons on top of huge goals. Look at it; itâs taller than that man. This seems to be impossible. I have to have long arms; a strong body, and blah blah blah, just build me!
Week Two: A catastrophe occurred, for a moment my life flashed before my eyes. I hit the wall and parts of me fell off as the rest was suspended in the air. Now I can testify that there is life after flight! Luckily, after extensive surgery, with a few extra nuts and bolts, I felt stronger than ever.
